The Smokey Blue Rally is more than just a day out—it’s a rally with a purpose, raising awareness and much-needed funds for Moyamoya Disease, a rare and progressive neurological condition that affects just 1 in a million people. Moyamoya causes the arteries at the base of the brain to narrow, leading to reduced blood flow and increased risk of stroke.
Meet the Faces Behind the Mission
When Nicola Baker’s young son, Jed, was diagnosed with Moyamoya, she found herself facing a rare condition with little public information or support. Out of that struggle, Moyamoya Australia was born. Nicola’s mission? To build a community of support and to raise funds for research. Since its founding, Moyamoya Australia has raised over $100,000 to support families and fund research for a cure.
