This week was the end of our annual Toy Drive in conjunction with South Cairns Sports Club, Trinity Beach Sports Club & Triple M Cairns. In addition to the literal HUNDREDS of gifts we donated, Cazalys also donated $1,000 to help fund the incredible work that Salvos does for our community.

After this, we were lucky enough to be invited by Major Ben from Salvos Cairns for a behind the scenes peek at what happens once our toy drive donations are dropped off.

Each donated toy is assigned a points value and families who are registered with Salvos are invited to “shop” for their children using a set points allowance. This allows parents and carers to choose gifts that are right for their own kids – based on age, interest or needs – rather than being handed a pre-selected bundle.

This approach empowers families, preserves dignity, and ensures every child receives something special this holiday season.
