Cazalys Top Dog Press Release

Cazalys Cairns was the place to be Sunday July 6th, as hundreds of dog lovers and their four-legged friends gathered for the highly anticipated Cazalys Top Dog 2025 event. With a crowd of approximately 750 attendees, the day was filled with fun, laughter, and wagging tails.

A total of 108 dogs registered for the competitions, showcasing their talents in categories such as Dressed to the K9s, Scruffiest Pooch, Dynamic Duo, Happiest Hound, Prettiest Puppy, and Best Trick and the ever-popular Dachshund Dash which saw 24 entrants competing for the title of Fastest Weiner in FNQ. Cazalys crowned Mollie – a very talented, dancing chihuahua – the title of Cazalys Top Dog 2025, after she showcased an incredible bond with her owner Gabrielle.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, 16 local businesses set up shop, offering everything from pet accessories and gourmet treats to handmade crafts and community services. The market was a hit among visitors, supporting local small businesses and pet-focused entrepreneurs. Visitors also enjoyed snapping memories at Tropical Photobooths, creating paw print keepsakes, trying their luck in the raffles, and indulging in cupcakes, snags & burgers.

Most importantly, the event succeeded in its mission to give back, raising a remarkable $11,365.70! All funds will stay local, going directly to RSPCA Cairns to support vital programs such as emergency boarding, the Animal Ambulance, vet bills, and desexing services. This achievement reflects the generosity of the Cairns community and their shared commitment to supporting animals in need.

Cazalys Top Dog Event Organiser, Danielle said, “We are blown away by the support from our community. Seeing so many people and their dogs come together for such a great cause is truly heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who attended, our sponsors, stallholders, and volunteers who made the day a success.”

The team at Cazalys is already looking forward to next year’s event, with plans to make it even bigger and better.
